Who we are

This website is run by Paolo Giardina, a sole trader trading as PG Surrey Electrics, an electrical contractor covering Surrey and London. We are responsible for any personal information you give us through this website, by phone or by email.

What we collect

When you request a quote or get in touch, we collect the details you choose to give us:

your name
your phone number
your email address
the postcode of the job
details of the work you need

If we go on to carry out work for you, we also keep the records that come with it, such as quotes, invoices and electrical certificates.

How we use it

to reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
to arrange and carry out the work
to issue invoices, certificates and any notifications the work legally requires
to keep the business records we are required to keep

We use your information because you have asked us for a quote or to carry out work, because we have a legal obligation to keep certain records, or because we have a legitimate interest in running our business and following up on enquiries. We will never use it for marketing without asking you first.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information or pass it to anyone for marketing. We only share it where we need to, for example with:

NAPIT and your local building control, when notifiable electrical work has to be registered
our accountant, for keeping business accounts
EmailJS, the service that delivers messages from the quote form to our inbox
the providers of services we use to run the business, such as email and website hosting

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not lead to any work, we delete your details within 12 months. If we carry out work for you, we keep the related records for as long as we need to for tax and legal purposes, which is usually 6 years. Electrical certificates may be kept longer, as they are an important safety record for your property.

Cookies and this website

This website does not use cookies or tracking for advertising or analytics. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google when the page loads. Our website host may also keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure.

Your rights

You have the right to:

ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
ask us to correct anything that is wrong
ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
